Museums
All the visitors who want to know more about the nature that involves the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve cannot miss the Urdaibai Bird Center.
Besides being a great museum and a scientific research center of birds, what makes unique the Bird Center is that the equipment itself is a privileged observatory of the marshland, located on the heart of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve and with amazing views.
It is indeed a living center, where every day brings something new, as the course of events is set by the birds. We are taking about one of the greatest phenomenon of the nature, the migration of birds where Urdaibai is a compulsory stop in this great journey.
The visitors will enjoy the birds that visit Urdaibai "in situ" from the observatories; Spoonbills from the Wadden Sea, elegant herons, several species of ducks, wader birds arrived from the far north and even birds so evasive as the eurasian bittern.
We are in front of a big airport for birds where the advice by the staff of the Center and the spectacular audiovisuals that are inside, will introduce us in this exciting world.
The visitor can make the self-guided visit through audio-guides in an autonomous way, or also a guided visit which requires an appointment.
