The Loiola family Tower House was the birthplace of Saint Ignatius, founder of the Society of Jesus in 1491.
The house falls within the sanctuary's limits and nowadays hosts a little museum showing Saint Ignatius's family's life, relatives of the Oñacino side, and its most famous person, Saint Ignatius.
As many other medieval towers, the Loiola one has a square plan, four floors and hipped floor. After Enrique IV's order to distroy the top of all the defensive buildings, Saint Ignatius de Loiola's grandfather ordered the destruction of the upper part and its rebuilding in Mudejar style.
That is the reason why the building has two styles: Gothic in the ground part and Mudejar in the upper part.
