This is the temple of pintxos, both for the surrounding region and for the visitors who pack its streets every weekend, treating themselves to the dozens of varieties of pintxos that fill the bars of its establishments.
A midday stroll through its narrow streets should be undertaken calmly, without following any particular route, washing down some excellent pintxos with txakoli or cider.
Among the many possible stops, its is well worth visiting Tamboril (Pescadería 2) with its mushrooms or Martínez (31 de agosto 13) with its shellfish pintxos.
Nor should you forget the wonderful brochettes at Goiz-Argi (Fermín Calbetón 4), the delicious anchovies at Txepetxa (Pescadería 5), the well-stocked bar at Ganbara (San Jerónimo 21) or the tasty mini-sandwiches at Txuleta (31 de agosto 40).
